There are so many cheap family activities in Galveston Texas!! You could stay on the beach all day, ride the free ferry to Port Bolivar, catch crabs with a string, go fishing on the pier, and so many more things!!

ACCOMMODATIONS

When we travel as our big family, eating out adds up so fast.  With the food bill and the amount of beds needed,  we always look to rent suites or condos that have a small kitchen. We found the perfect accommodations with a bed for everyone, a kitchen, two pools and located directly across the street from the beach! The Victorian did not disappoint!  Each condo is decorated differently and many are individually owned and rented out.  BONUS: Walmart is located just to the west for convenient shopping for food or forgotten items!

DINING

Most of our meals were slow-cooker (check out our beach house menu!), but thankfully we have older kids who can babysit and we escaped from the chaos one evening. We ventured to Fish Tales located right across from Pleasure Pier.  The coconut shrimp at Fish Tales was amazing!!  Word to the Wise: If you eat on the deck you will have an amazing view, but guard your food while you eat. Seagulls swoop in if you turn your head or lean back to relax or chat.

Bolivar Ferry

We took a ferry from Galveston to Bolivar, which is a beautiful and secluded stretch of land where you can drive right onto the beach.

The day was perfect and calm and no time restraints!

Shark Fishing from 61st Street Pier

Kayden had some amazing success fishing off of the 24 hour 61st Street Pier.

He was really wanting to catch a shark after researching what people had caught off of this pier. Oh boy did he get what he wanted!

Crabbing off the Rocks

We simply used a string with a chicken neck on the end of it and a net to cat some amazing blue crabs!  Check out the video for a step by step guide of how to catch blue crabs with a string.

Best Park in Galveston

We discovered an amazing park for the kids to play at located right on the harbor, at Seawolf Park.

There is a small entry fee, but the location and playground are definitely worth it!
